To the citizens of Portsmouth
I became involved after a series of poor decisions, by our elected officials, became visible and reported on the internet sites. I decided to investigate by attending City Council meetings and becoming involved. I discovered many of the decisions of City Council were not based on fact and did not include the necessary foresight required to address the problems at hand.
The expectations of our City government must be raised. I believe in holding our City government accountable. The taxpayers are owed accountability. Accountability is the only way to return integrity and respect to our City government.
City Council has been elected to represent the citizens to make decisions. Citizens must be informed. If you do not agree with them contact your representative and voice your concerns. Communication is key to our success. We must continue to find ways to inform and create an environment that encourages public involvement. Citizens must hold our government in check. This can only be done if they are well informed.
"Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government." Thomas Jefferson
A large diverse resource of experience and knowledge exists within Portsmouth and your ideas and opinions must be heard. With your support, I am working to ensure integrity and trust are restored in our community. Communication is essential!
I am committed to improving the quality of life in the City of Portsmouth by strengthening our neighborhoods, delivering superior services, embracing the diversity of our citizens, and making Portsmouth a desirable, safe City in which to live, work, raise a family, shop, study, play, and grow old.
The City has many challenges ahead and the citizens must be a part of those decisions. Citizens must choose to be a part of the challenge and not the victim. Communication is key! Do not be a victim of the system contact your council representative with your views and comments!!!!
Working together we will make a difference!!!!!!!!
